Angels Among Us

Archangel

Archangel Michael

I connected with angels at an early age. Attending both Catholic Church and school, I was taught at an early age how to connect to this divine realm. Each day as I entered school I would walk by the large statue of Archangel Michael and feel a sense of peace and protection.

Archangel Michael is known as the protector and great defender. He is one that can be called upon for strength and courage. Archangel Michael is depicted with a sword and can assist us in cutting unhealthy energetic cords and conquering negative energy. He is easily accessible when called upon to assist in protection.

Archangel Gabriel

As I grew older and experienced difficulty and trauma, my connection to angels continued to deepen. In fact, completely unconsciously my son was named after the messenger Archangel Gabriel!

Archangel Gabriel is known to have announced to Mother Mary that she was with child. “Behold, I am Gabriel. I stand in the very presence of God. It was He who sent me to you.” (Luke1:19) He is also known as the archangel for communication.

Angels of Comfort

Devastated by the loss of Gabriel, my mom asked me not to use angel names for my future children. After Gabriel’s death, I was inundated with gifts of angels, many of which still remain displayed around the house. Further, my love for angels grew exponentially following our devastating loss, and I began to collect angels. Slowly they began to patch the space I was desperately seeking to fill. Seeing these angels were a constant reminder of both my angel in heaven, as well as a reminder of the comforting presence surrounding me.

These angels brought me a feeling of peace, of sense when nothing else really made sense. I would often sit near a certain angel and feel a presence of peace and unconditional love surround me, in the times I needed it most. Through these angels I was better able to connect to the heavenly helpers always eager to assist us.

Archangel Raphael

A decade and a half ago I attended Louise Hay’s “I Can Do It” conference in Las Vegas and I took part in Doreen Virtue’s seminar. It was there I first sensed Archangels Michael and Raphael. Following this workshop my connection to Archangel Raphael deepened. After all he is the Angel of healing and he is a guide for healers and medical professionals. As a result of this knowledge, I began to consciously invoke Archangel Raphael each morning, before attending work as a nurse, or prior to conducting an energy healing session. The name Raphael means “God heals”. What a supreme Angel to call upon when one needs healing of body, mind or spirit!

Attending this workshop was the first Gabriel’s sudden death and it was a profound experience in many ways. As I lay on my bed that night, suddenly my entire room was half green, half purple.  Looking at the ceiling, it was the same mixture of color, as was the bed cover and walls. At first I was alarmed, but I quickly felt the presence of the mighty archangels, purple for Michael and green for Raphael and have been able to sense their presence ever since.

Once you’ve consciously experienced the healing power of angels it becomes easier to continually connect and call upon them for assistance and healing. Their presence leaves a palpable imprint and there is no question about whether or not an Angel has been present.

Angels and Healing

In my experience as an energy healer, that connection to the angels is readily available. At times while doing the work, my head will tip back until my face is pointed toward the ceiling. Above us there is an incredible chorus of angels present and palpable during the session. This brings an incredibly sacred element to healing sessions. The high vibration of these experiences often leave me with a feeling of awe, humbled by their presence and willing assistance for those seeking help.

Most people are aware they have a guardian angel and feel comforted with this knowledge. Further, many of us will often refer to earth angels, as well as use “Angel” as an affectionate nickname for someone we feel goes above and beyond. Angels carry a very special quality and many humans carry these recognizable and familiar angelic qualities as well.

Touched by an Angel

Recently I was completing some housework and the chorus of a song from my adolescence suddenly popped into my head. It was a song that touched my heart at a tender 14 years of age. I used to play it on repeat thousands of times but haven’t heard in years. The song was Alabama’s “Angels Among Us”. In the past, this song brought me solace and peace beyond imagining.

The chorus goes “I believe there are angels among us, sent down to us from somewhere up above. They come to you and me, in our darkest hours, to show us how to live, to teach us how to give, to guide us with the light of love.” (https://youtu.be/y_4Xfj2LRSA)

What truthful and beautiful lyrics. To be touched by an Angel is a divine and sacred energy. There truly are angels surrounding us, always. They are here to guide, comfort, protect and assist in our healing and transformation.

I would love to hear about your experiences with angels! Also, I would invite you to please share which angels you feel connected to or would like to learn more about!
